This 1975 cinema classic is Diana Ross in perhaps her most memorable film role, as Tracy,  a fashion student and shop clerk who is skyrocketed into the world of modeling. Mahogany serves up drama while posing questions about the cost of ambition and success. Part of the Hammer’s Black Book screening program, the film will be followed by a discussion with Tisa Bryant and Ernest Hardy.

The Colors of Love: A Music and Wine Tasting

The Colors of Love is a special themed event that promises to be a treat for all your senses. Morton Subotnick: 50th Anniversary of Silver Apples of the Moon

For the audiophile and adventurous listener, a once-in-a-lifetime concert from one of the most creative forces in experimental electronic music is happening at the Redcat theater on Valentine’s Day. Electronic music pioneer, Morton Subotnick will be revisiting his masterpiece recording, Silver Apples of the Moon with a live performance. Subotnick will be accompanied by the vocal work of Joan La Barbara and a visual interpretation by artist Lillevan.

Love Robot Chicken Style

There’s plenty of Valentine’s fun in the run up to the big day, and Iam8bit’s charity art show will have you smiling for a great cause. Stop by for a night of pop-culture parody and art, all in the name of love. Attending is free, but they are raising funds for Free Arts, which provides art access to youth throughout the Los Angeles area.
